Part3: Matsu’s Lifelong Dedication to the Craft

Having learned from both her aunt and her mother-in-law, Matsu lived her entire life carrying on their legacy. Even after moving into a nursing care facility, Aunt Matsu would ask,
「Do you have any u for me to make threads?」 She would say, 「I can’t go on living without making threads」 and 「If I just watch TV all day, my brain will go soft.」
So, she kept making threads even in the facility.
Even past the age of 90, she would call on her mobile phone to check up on her work, asking,
「Is my thread doing alright?」 She worried about the quality of her work until the very end, making sure it wasn’t getting too thick or snapping.
She passed away in April 2026.
